SAFFLOWER
carthamus tinctoria

IMG_4232.jpeg

Description
Safflower has been a challenging plant for us to grow mostly due to the fact that it really can't bear to be transplanted. For some reason it does not want to grow very large in our soil. We'll keep trying!

Experiments

We've done a little experimenting with safflower eco-prints. We were able to pull the red out from around the yellow (see below) which is most intriguing.
