The large bright long-lasting marigold flowers are reminiscent of gardens of old. We grow tall bushy African marigold plants. We love how they keep blooming even during dry weather. In order to improve their dying potency we separate the petals to create a stronger and more pure dye.

We have experimented with dying on linen which is notoriously hard to dye. We got a beautiful earthy orange dye with hints of green (using the entire flower head). Using only petals will yield a more concentrated dye. Marigold petals will add bright splashes of colour to a bundle dye project.
