Description
Greenthread is a low-growing plant that produces an underwhelming number of flowers. The flowers must be picked promptly as mid-way through the growing season the plant seems to slow right down and produce next to no flowers. Fortunately, the effort is still worth it for greenthread produces a most interesting colour.
Experiments
We have experimented with dying on wool and eco-printing on cotton and linen. As an immersion dye, greenthread produces a beautiful orange with an almost pinkish hue that defies description. Both leaves and flowers produces a crisp orange eco-print.
