Red Onion.jpeg

As with many natural dyers, many of our first experiments with natural dyeing were with onion skins. What a delight to discover that our heritage red onions made a created a gorgeous olive green colour.

We have experimented dyeing wool, cotton and linen with green onion skins. We have also used it for splashes of green in a bundle-dyed silk scarf. Relatively little dye stuff, by weight, is needed for good colour.
