Description

Hopi sunflower is the tallest plant in our garden. Our main challenge in growing it in our northern climate is getting it mature enough to produce a large number of seeds before the end of the season. It's also a challenge to keep it from getting mouldy while drying out at the end of the season and keeping the birds from eating the seeds.

Experiments

Our experiments with dyeing with Hopi sunflower have brought pale mauve colours.
